“Baby, Don’t Get Hooked on Me” – Hart of Dixie

This is an episode that wouldn’t have seemed out of place on Valentine’s Day. All it needed were a few tacky papier-mâché hearts, and a few more disgustingly happy couples.

“Baby, Don’t Get Hooked on Me” saw the progression of Zoe and Wade’s relationship and the thriving of Ruby and Lavon’s. It saw a relationship of a different sort – Annabeth and Lemon’s – suffer trials and tribulations and yet, eventually, get its happy ending (Lemon made quite a sweet sacrifice as they set up their catering company). It saw Zoe wooed by a teenager. It saw said teenager beginning to see past Zoe to the girl he should really be with – Rose. And it saw Wade being the sweetest we’ve ever seen. Like we said last week, that particular relationship is slowly morphing into something more than friends with benefits. And we couldn’t be happier.

We’re not usually fans of the über-gooey (Kirsty, for one, is quite prone to fits of bitterness), but this hit just the right spot between sweet and saccharine. It even had moments of doubt to temper the whole thing – Lavon doesn’t want to trap Ruby in Bluebell, stopping her from living her dreams, but Ruby says not to worry, “I’m here now. Let’s just take it day by day.”

Are we the only ones that thought that that sounded like someone who wasn’t in it for the long haul? Lemon and Lavon forever! – B+K

Quoteworthy: “It’s a knife and hot water, not the secret to nuclear fusion!” – Annabeth
